what we are doing

Levi's Legacy's mission: prevent future drownings.

Water safety is complex, and there is not just one simple fix. Ultimately, our culture needs to change how it perceives water. Since we cannot escape water, let's embrace this fact by learning to enjoy it while also staying safe. Water MUST be respected. Once babies are mobile, they MUST learn water competency. Safety and survival skills MUST be prioritized over teaching our children that water is fun.

Levi's Legacy is working to increase awareness of the real truth about drowning. We are grateful for such continued support from our own community, as well as that from organizations and strangers from around the world.

OUR PLAN:

  • Spread awareness on the real truth about drowning.

  • Distribute Water Guardian tags and emphasize constant supervision, even during non-swim times.

  • Encourage parents to enroll children in the right kind of swim lessons (lessons that teach survival skills and emphasize water competency over fun).

  • Provide swim lessons to families who cannot afford them

  • Create life-jacket-loaner stations at local lakes.

  • Work with pediatricians and other medical professionals to help them engage their patients on the topic of drowning prevention.
